Our History

The Church started in 1970 at the Local Authority Primary School at swamp road Warri by some Scripture Union Students (SU) FROM Benin that are residing in Warri through the Youth Evangelical Movement.

Some of such are: Rev. E. Enofuroh (Overseer, Spring Trust), Rev. Dennis Muoghere, Rev. Blankson Dudu (Deeper Life Bible Church) and Evangelist (Mrs.) Erhisere.

Rev. Edosamwam of CGM was the first Pastor who alternated with lay preachers like the then Bro. Onofuroh in tending the church. To enhance progress, the Youth Evangelical Movement metamorphosed into the Souls Harvesters.

Th church later shifted base from the Primary school to the house of Papa Ejukulem at Ighogbadu and finally to No: 8 Ejiyere street in a wooden structure. God then used Evangelist (Mrs.) M.O. Erhisere to convince Evangelist Cousin Mosheshe who gave the land eventually to the church free of charge. The inauguration service of Ejiyere branch started with the wedding ceremony of Rev. & Rev. Mrs. Wilson Ofoluwa on the 2nd of February 1975.

Nine head Pastors right from the inception of the church till this day have ensured her development. They are:

  1. Pastor Edosamwan -              Pioneer Pastor

  2. Pastor Williams Emejiror -

  3. Pastor Aliu

  4. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

  5. Bishop Diamond Emuoboh

  6. Cletus Diolu

  7. Dr. Augustine Ighodakpo

  8. Godwin T. Kuroko and

  9. Dr. Oriseh Johnson Agbarah

God used Rev. O. J. Agbarah mightily to actualize the vision of transforming the then bungalow – sized building in a 50 by 100 plot of land into a gigantic three storey edifice spanning from Ejiyere to Dederu Street, with state of the art offices, conference halls, library, etc. this became possible because Chief Engr. Micheal Ikuku who earlier refused when approached for the land, later on, miraculously offered the plot of land (i.e. at Dederu street) together with a cash donation voluntarily to the church for God’s use in year 2002 thus fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of the Pastor and members to retain the church as the mother church of the Warri Bishopric.

The new church building was dedicated by His Grace, Most Rev. Margaret Benson-Idahosa, the ArchBishop of CGMI on Saturday 29th Dec. 2007. Also, it became a Zonal Headquarters on Sun 9th October 2011 and Rev. Dr. O.J. Agbarah became not only her first National Presbyter but also her first and only Coordinator till date.
